Know About Healthy Food for Your Child

For optimal growth of children in terms of brain development, height and body, a healthy diet is needed. Good nutrition is very significant for child for avoiding the problems such as coronary heart disease, hypertension and others in their later life. One should always cheer their children to eat healthy diet and nutritious food. There should be restraint on eating junk food as well as sugared beverages. These days, children like junk food a lot such as burger, pizza and noodles but these are harmful for them.

# A healthy nutrition diet mainly includes:

- Fruits
- Whole grains
- Cereals such as cornflakes
Seafood and eggs
All dairy products such as cheese, milk and yogurt
Vegetables etc.

# Food for baby: From 3 to 5 years

There are various foods which are a good source of energy. Necessary food for baby up to 3 to 5 years are cornflakes, boiled or baked potatoes, soda farls, cereals such as Ready Bre, apple, vegetable soup, Weetabix, kiwi fruit and lot more. Rice porridge with tiny pieces of meat can be prepared as these are a good source of vitamin B. Calcium is also very significant for this age as it helps in building strong bones. Sugary foods should be avoided because this can lead to tooth decay of a child. You can also give fruit juice to the child but in a limited quantity. About 2 cups of semi skimmed milk or 2 ounces of processed cheese is necessary for a child of 3 – 5 years.

# Food for baby: From 1 to 3 years

Food for baby from 1 to 3 years should be prepared using low salt and sugar in less quantity. In this age, brain of a child develops speedily, so high quality nutrition is very vital for nerves and cells in the brain to develop precisely. For best development of brain, almond, nut butters and avocado should be used in making food. As beverage breast milk of mother is best for baby. In addition to the breast milk, water should be given to baby in between meals and cow milk is also considered very healthy for baby. Furthermore, fat is very significant for baby for the growth of myelin formation. Besides this, you should also include iron in the diet of baby because shortage of iron leads to the cognitive problems. Some foods which are rich in iron are tofu, enriched grains, fish etc. Small amount of healthy food that is rich in fibre should be given to the child after a gap of 1 to 2 hours all through the day.

# How to make kids like healthy food?

Many times children avoid eating healthy food as they do not find it scrumptious. So to make food more attractive you should prepare it using a variety of interesting recipes and ingredients. You can prepare homemade juice adding little sugar or salt in it if a child don’t want to eat the fruits. If the child is school going then you can pack Tiffin for him or her in an attractive and presentable way so that it can be eye catching and child feel interested in eating it. Additionally, you can make various dishes by adding some extra flavor according to the choice of your child.
